Boycott Spotify - Go All In with Mousai!
For me Mousai is a game changer!ย
I am married to a singer songwriter, Hubert Tubbs and we are partners in our small music label, Get Whet Music, in Vienna, Austria. The only income we have comes from his music: live performing, performance royalties and sales of cd's. He's the artist, and I get to do some organizing and computer work and posting on social media.
We live in a world of music. The good, the bad, the ugly.
The good: Hubert's peers and my friends are passionate and incredible artists who are compelled to create, to perform and to perfect their craft. Everyday is filled with desire coupled with vulnerability as we dig a little deeper - trying to communicate what are talents are pushing us to release.
The Bad: The music industry sucks the life out of musicians to fill their greedy pockets. The Good gets lost.
The Ugly:ย The Streaming services bully musicians to create music that 'sells' according to their playlist algorithms. It's like asking them to sell their souls. They then call them lazy if they don't succumb to this insanity.
Let me delve into the reality of the life of working musicians. There are many incredibly talented musicians like Hubert who have had long careers, a bit of recognition, and who have full bodies of work under their belts.
Millions of artists, in fact 2.96 million artists are working musicians outside the top tier 10% acclaimed artists.

That is about .004 per stream. That is what they pay per stream but that payout can get divided up, the record company first, publisher, and then collaborator artists divide the rest. It also depends on the Country where it was streamed. Some pay less.
This pic below is taken from a Mousai post. An artist posted his recent earnings from Youtube.
What?! We know it's bad but seeing it in black and white really sucks. Read Mousai's Post
253,600 streams to earn $1.88! It's crushing really with odds like this trying to make a living.ย
Trust me I have tried everything to get the word out, market CD's , advertise gigs. Post on FB, FB Ad's, Post on Instagram. Patreon.ย
The average Indie Artist doesn't stand a chance and doesn't have the cash or the wherewithal to handle the type of marketing that will make a difference.
(I fairly recently got turned on to DeSo by some wonderful friends, @MechellLord , and @ZORAN. I don't want to go off track talking about my friends here, so just send them some love, some diamonds and buy some of their cc!)
Below are examples of earnings from tips/diamonds paid directly from the Mousai app. paid to the artist. Each artist has only 300 - 375 streams each on the app. They didn't get paid on every stream. They get paid when someone tips them diamonds! AND, They get can get paid not only within the Mousai Streaming app. They can get paid if they share a track on the Diamond app, or on the DesoWorld app, or Clout app or most of the DeSo Apps. This is FUN! I love giving Diamonds!
@Manetanedareason 1.03 $DESO ($9.49)
@ScottPage @ScottPage 0.76 $DESO ($7.03)
@AnnaAwe 0.19 $DESO ($1.75)
@ElizabethTubbs (Hubert Tubbs) 0.16 $DESO ($1.43)
@ClayPerryMusic 0.15 $DESO ($1.40)
@CassiusCuvee 0.14 $DESO ($1.27)
What?! Each of these artists earned with only 300 views on the Mousai Stream!ย VS needing 250,000 monthly!
It is a Game Changer! It means that all I have to do is use Mousai to share Hubert's music. Build an audience and post like I would normally on Social Media.
I see possibilities! I see actual earnings. It is worth spending my efforts on Mousai uploading and sharing? I only have about 120 followers, but I know participating will automatically build followers and I know the community here love to pay / send diamonds to content they appreciate.ย
Every day without trying I get new followers. I am having fun. So, YES, it is worth it.ย
I would rather make .01 cent here on a post, than spin my wheels and spend my money trying to get hundreds of thousands of view's or streams and earn nothing!ย
Patiently building visibility here may eventually even generate a monthly income. It doesn't have to be millions.ย
Meanwhile it's back to work. Hubert is in the other room composing new music, getting ready for a song writing session next week.ย
Wouldn't it be great if one day streaming his songs pays for the next release? Music is Hubert's life and his mission is to fill the airwaves with great music.ย
Have a listen on Mousai : Hubert Tubbs
Send some love, send diamonds, and turn your friends on to some great music!
Discover many other wonderful artists on the Mousai App!

It's about Daniel Ek's opinion and comments on how Spotify works and reactions to him and Spotify.
?10% of Spotifyโs recorded music payments (outside the 90% of streams claimed by the โtop tierโ). And, according to our estimates here, in Q2, we know this 10% amounted to $107 million in royalties. Divided amongst those 2.96 million artists, this means
the average non-โtop tierโ Spotify artist earned just over $36 in the quarter. Or $12 per month.
